Welcome to my blog, my ramblings and my thoughts as my adventure begins.
🧭 How Did You Even End Up Here?
Right.
So. You’ve ended up here. Somehow.
Either you’re a fellow lunatic who loves the blinding glow of RGB lights, the satisfying click of a mechanical keyboard, and the quiet thrill of launching pixelated chaos into the void…
Or you meant to order garden furniture and clicked the wrong link.
Doesn’t matter.
Welcome.
This is Lore. And Lore is not a wellness blog, a cryptocurrency cult, or a review site for cordless hoovers. It’s something far more dangerous: a two-year mission to build something huge, slightly unhinged, and completely mine.
⚽ When Football Dreams Go Sideways
I’m Deano. I grew up in Montacute — a tiny village with big hills and bigger dreams. I wanted to be a professional footballer. Specifically, for Yeovil Town FC.
And I’ll admit, I had the passion.
Sadly, what I didn’t have was the talent.
Like a Vauxhall Corsa trying to enter Le Mans, it was all noise and no results. So I settled for Montacute 91 FC, where the pitches were muddy, the tackles were lethal, and half the team were also your neighbour’s plumber.
Football dream: crashed and burned.
🧑💻 CTRL + ALT + DISAPPOINTMENT
So I turned to computers. Programming. Nerd stuff. I mastered QuickBasic and Visual Basic — the digital equivalent of driving a go-kart with a jet engine strapped on.
Then came C and Java.
Unforgiving. Miserable. About as much fun as being spawn-killed on a laggy server by someone called xXx_69Sn1perLord_xXx.
Turns out, I wasn’t destined to be the next coding prodigy either.
🛫 Enter: The RAF Years
So, naturally… I joined the Royal Air Force.
Twenty-one years later, I’m still here. Currently stationed at Lossiemouth, staring down the barrel of my final two years in service, wondering what comes next.
And the answer has been staring at me since I was a kid.
🎮 The One Constant: Gaming
Gaming.
Not casually. Not occasionally.
I’m talking religiously.
From Sinclair cassette games with my dad, to full-blown LAN parties running Quake 2 in Yeovil College classrooms that were definitely meant for something else — like, say, learning.
Gran Turismo. Call of Duty. Sensible Soccer.
These weren’t just games. They were escape routes. Therapy sessions. Training for a world where I finally got to win.
🚀 The Plan: Lore
So, what now? Simple.
I’m going all in. No more football fantasies. No more military schedules. Just me, my controller, and a mission: to build something in gaming that matters.
I don’t care about being a rich. Or going viral. Or launching a merch line with my face on a hoodie.
I just want to create something honest. Play games. Talk games. Share what I’ve learned. Make it count. All while being able to pay the mortgage.
📡 Your Mission Briefing
Lore is where it begins.
This blog will chart the whole thing — the ups, the downs, the inevitable tech meltdowns, and yes, the occasional tantrum about overpriced duct tape.
But it’ll also show progress. Growth. And maybe even a small miracle or two.
So strap in. The countdown has started.
This might be a smooth flight.
It might be a flaming wreckage you can see from space.
Either way, Stay Frosty, it’s going to be loud.
